Mr G. C. Garlick observed at the meeting of the Industrial Association this afternoon, that veryfew of the association members had so far applied for space in the forthcoming Exhibition. Mr Garlick thought that such a. state of affairs was to be deplored, and he urged that manufacturers should 'bestir themselves and set a good example to manufacturers in other centre*?. Exhibits from the smaller manufacturers were especially to be desired. Mr Harbutt (president of the Association) endorsed the sentiments expressed hy Mr Garlick, and mentioned that the Committee proposed that steps in the direction indicated should he taken, so that a combined display might be made by smaller manufacturers, who, individually, would perhaps not be prepared to take action. In response to the request of a great number of people who were unable to attend last night's concert, Mr YTalter Kirby has decided to give a second recital in the Town Hall to-morrow (Wednesday) evening.
