GROWING IRRITATION. A BOYCOTT SUGGESTED. OBJECT LESSON 'lO JAPAN. TOKYO, April 14. Japan has protested against California's anti-Japanese legislation. The irritation is growing. One party proposes an anti-Califoniian boycott. The newspapers describe the bill as a great breach of treaty rights. The Chamber of Commerce has cabled io the Chambers Of Commerce in San Francisco and Los Angelos, emphasising the loss to trade that will probably result from the passing of the legislation. . The. foreign. Press declare that the situation is an object-lesson for Japan, where foreigners are not allowed to own land,.despite the law"of 1910, which has not been carried into effect.
