FACILITIES FOR SCHOOL CHILDF,EN. ' TO VISIT BATTLESHIP. The following memorandum has been received from the Inspector-General of Schools (Mr. Hogbehy by the Auckland Education' Board, in reference to the visit of the.battleship-cruiser New Zealand:— "By arrangement -with the department the Railway Department will give free passes to school children in Standards 4, 5, 6, 7. and also to any children in Standard 3 who are over 11 years of age, from places to which they can return the same day, to enable them to visit the battleship New Zealand by any special train provided for the purpose. The free passes will be extended to ■teachers in charge, but not to other persons. There must be at least two adults in charge in each carriage. "The Board will, of caurse, make arrangements for the proper c«re and supervision or the children during the journey and in port. It will be neces-. sary for the Board to obtain in respect to each school a certificate of the number of children and teachers to whom passages are given. The certificate should show the number in each standard and the number over 15 j'ears of age." TO-DAY'S AMUSEMENTS POSTPONED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day.
