SLAUGHTERERS' DISPUTE.
REFERRED TO COUHT DIRECT. (Bγ Telegraph.—Press Association.) - WELLINGTON f this day. The dispute "between the Wellington.Slaughtermen's Union and the meat companies has been referred to the Arbitration Court. When the parties met before the Conciliation Council, Messrs. Bray and Pryor, on behalf of the companies, said he" -was instructed to say that thu companies were not prepared to discuss the situation with the old union in any shape or form. The local companies hail entered into agreements with the other 1 unions, and there was nothing to be gained by discussion. If the union \va s not prepared to accept the new agreement there was nothing to do but to »r> to the Court. The Conciliation Comm:.*sioncr accordingly had no alternative but to submit the dispute to the Court.
