At a meeting of the Otalndiii Boroogh Comrell last evening, Mr H. J. Han (depnty Mayor) presiding, the Council ■ resohreiJ to contribute £10 towards the cost of entertaining the officers «nd men of H.M-s. New Zealand on the occasion of their visit to Auckland. Tie Council also decided to inspect the Tam&ki Bridge, which is reported to be in a dangerous condition. It was resolved, on the motion of Mr 3. Atkinson, tomnniclpaHse the Otalralra Brara Rand, and a Band , Committee was appointed, the ■Ratepayers and Citizens' Aaeociation also being invited to appoint three representatives as members of the committee. Tar-sprajdng and other matters also engaged tie attention of the Council.
