LONDON, March 31. The death of Lord Pembroke occurred yesterday.

NEW YORK, April 1. Rear-Admiral John White Moore died at New Jersey yesterday.

Bear-Admiral John White Moore originated the idea of chain cable protection on the sides of wooden vessels, and also of the system of using war paint for making ships less visible in action and at night, and of fighting-tops now universally used in war vessels. He took a prominent part in the American Civil War.
