EEMUERA RATEPAYERS' ASSOCIATION. A meeting of the Remnera Ratepayers' Association was held last night. There were present .are members, the chairman (Mr: J. H. Hanuaii) and the secretary (Mr Short). There was some discussion upon the method of the allocation of. Board moneys for road improvement. It" was decided eventually to ask that the clerk of the Board should supply a detailed statement of the allocation and expenditure of the £22,090 loan. On the motion of Mr Clayton it waa decided that it be made a suggestion to the Board that the work in Greenlane be pushed on as expeditiously as possible. MAUNGAKIEKIE LADIES' GOLF CLUB. Trie annual general meeting of the Maungaklekie Ladies' Golf Club whs held in the clubhouse on Monday, a large number of members attending. The following officers were elected for the season:—Captain, Mrs. Ferguson; secretary, Mrs. Ridings; committee, Misses Gordon, Crowther and Steele, who'were added to the general ladies' committee, consisting of Mrs. Ball, Mrs. Hidings, Misses Barstow and Souter. JUBILEE INSTITUTE FOB THE BLIND. The annual meeting of the contributors of the Jubilee Institute for the Blind was held yesterday afternoon, amongst those present being: Jobn Beid (chairman), H. C. H. Walker, D. Goldie, W. R. Bloomfleld, C. E. Abbott, C. Cooper, and the Hon. Geo. Fowlds. The chairman said that his Excellency the Governor bad consented to be president of the Institute. During the year the funds had benefited, very greatly under the wills ot various persons. The work of the Institute was proceeding very satisfactorily. Statistics eira wed that there are 482 blind people In New Zealand,, an average of 4 in 10,000. Happily, this ratio was not increasing, and If the rapidly Increasing population of the Dominion be taken into account, this was very gratifying. It was the Intenttan of the Institute to make an exhibit at. the Auckland Exhibition.

The chief. business of the meeting was the election of a .trustee, made necessary by the retirement ol Dr. Purchas and the lapse .of the appointment of Mr a N. A. Nathan, wfcom It was necessary to reflect. Both trustees were re-elected.
