The Hon. H, D. Bell, Minister of Internal Affairs and Acting-Minister of. Eck_tion, arrived -.by the ■ Main' Trunk train from Wellington this morning on a living visit, accompanied by his; private secretary, Mr W. J. Black. - -While in Auckland the -Minister is staying at the Grand Hotel, hut tomorrow he leaves by the early train to HelensvUle -to visit •his son," who has taken up a farm in the Northern Wairoa district. Mt Bell will pass through Auckland again about the end of the present week on his way to Wellington,, where, as Minister _ in charge of the arrangements in connection with the visit of the battle-cruiser New Zealand, he will need to be present when the warship arrives. at that port next Saturday week. This morning the Minister had a conference with the Mayor and chairman of the Harbour Board respecting the locararrangements for. her .visit to°.the Waitemata,- and this afternoon he received a deputation from those interested in the amalgamation of'Remuera in the city, Mr J. S. Dickson, M.P.. introducingithe members to the Minister. The Bishop of Melanesia visited Otahuhu yesterday, and preached in Holy Trinity Chnrch in the evening.
