UNWELCOME BIRD.
GERMAN AIRSHIP HOVERS OVER ENGLAND. (Keceived 10 a.m.) LONDON. February 24. A mysterious airship, with a powerful searchlight, was seen in the neighbourhood of Selby. in Yorkshire, r.nd East Warwickshire.
There is little doubt that the stranger fts from Germar.v.
A message from Berlin states that several Zeppelin airships have been making prolonged night trips.
Some of the ships carry machine guns. ]Jer ore fitted with bullet-proof shields Hid wireless, and carry a ton of explosive*.
Of the British array aeroplanes which ire taking part in the flight from AldsrBbot to Montrose, a distance of about 3SO miles, several have reached Newcastle, 140 miles from the starting point.
