A NEWTON SWIMMING BATH.

(To the Editor.} Sir, —Some little time ago Mr. Sexton proposed that the old Ponsonby reservoir be converted into a swimming bath. I, with many others, heartily endorse Mr. Sexton's and I am surprised to see that there has been no comment on the suggestion. Seeing the popularity of the Point Erin baths, I thirtk that a swimming bath on Ponsonby corner would be heartily patronised by young and old. Many workmen coming home from work would enjoy a swim before going home. A bath nearer than the Point Erin one would be very popular among our Grey Lynn residents. The cost to alter the building would not be very much, and 1 hope the City Council will considor the idea.—l am, etc.,
