CAMBRIDGE NEWS.
At a meeting of the Borough Council, it was reported that the overdraft was £3,238 G/3, and accounts to the amount of £3-"**9 were passed for payment. The Works Committee reported having gone thoroughly into the question of adopting a more progressive .method o£ doing street work. It was resolved to procure a horse and dray. The tender of Messrs. Newton, Cliainbers and Co. was accepted for the supply of a 20,000 foot gasholder; the tank to hold the same will be erected In ferro-concrete by day labour. Among other games played on the C—m>brldge bowling greens on Wednesday were the following for the championship singles, the conditions being best two out of three games:—B. Walker bent R. Crickett, 22—16 to 7—14; G. Clements beat M. Butler, 17— 22 to 12—6; W. McFarlane beat G. Clemen-t----in the first match, but there are two others yet to be played. On Wednesday evening the Boy Scouts gave an entertainment in the Town Hall, In aid of their camp fund. It was well attended and most successful.
