Mr. and Mrs. George Kesnt left by the Malwa yesterday on a visit to Austral-.. Mr. Chas. MacMahon, of the New Theatre, Wellington, and the Queen's Theatre, Auckland, is on a (short visit to this euty. Mr. and Mrs. T. Cotter and Mies Cotter, who intend spending about six months in India, were among the Malwa's passengers yesterday. Mr. A. J. Patrick, a weQ-Vnown actor with the firm of J. C. A~_liamson, Ltd., leaves by the Marama few Vancouver to-morrow, en route to New York. Mr. A. Guise, late prr—ete secretary to his Excellency the Governor, and Mrs. Guise will leave Auckland by the Marama to-morrow for Vancouver, en route to England. Among the arrivals by the Malwa yesterday who are staying ai the Grand Hotel were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Cole, of JLondon, and Mr. and Mrs. F. \V. Hardy, of Sale,. Cheshire. Mr. Harley MacKenzie, a prominent New South Wales solicitor, was a passenger by the Malwa, en route for Rotorua, on a holiday trip. While in Auckland, he is staying at the Northern Club. Messrs. F. A. Anderson and F. S. Wild-, ing, of Christchureh, were passengers by the Malwa yesterday, en route for India. After doing India, they intend to go across to Egypt, and a cruise up the Persian Gulf id also to be part of the trip. The Hon. W. H. Herries will leave Wellington oh Christmas Eve for Auckland, and after Christmas he will accompany the Minister of Public Works (Hon. W. Fraser) over the route of the East Coast Trunk railway, afterwards attending to some native land business . in the Bay of Plenty. Miss Amy Stevenson, of Devonport, ■ who was some years connected with the Auckland Choral and Orchestral Societies, has just returned from two and a-half years' study of music in Londop at the Royal Academy of Music, where she has made a special study of the 1 Ostrovsky method for the violin .
