SYDNEY, December 18. The steamer Nikko Mam has brought the first shipment of Japanese apples, consisting of 150 cases. BUXIE BARLOWS LIBEL SUIT. SYDNEY, "Decem-bey 18. The celebrated libel case brought by Bfllie Barlow, the actress, against the "BuDetur" newspaper has -been revived. The case was heard on March 27th, 1901, when judgment was given for defendant, witb £103 costs against the plaintiff. The amount has remained unpaid, and the proprietors of the paper received permission to-day to issue an execution for that amount against Miss Barlow, who is at present in Sydney under an engagement to the Williamson Company. WARM WEATHER, SYDNEY, December 18. A heat wave was general throughout Australia to-day. Tbe shade temperature was 92 degrees in Sydney, and 115 degrees at Menindie (1,460 miles from Sydney).
