SHELLY BEACH BATHS.

(To the Editor.) Sir, —I notice our worthy Mayor (Mr. C- J. Parr) ie trying to so arrange the limes that ladies may use the baths, so as to minimise the injustice dose to the j women folk. As you pointed ont in j your article some time ago, it;is altoI gether unfair that women should be" de- | barred from the health-giving pleasure jof sea-bathing. There are quite » large I nun>ber of young women who hstve to work in factories and offices that etenot use the baths except at very inconvenient hears, such «s Sundays from 2 to 3.30 p.m. It appears to mc that these are the very ones that should be provided for. Life in factories and officGe is not conducive to physical development, »ad sea-bathing (regularly, not only occasionally) should be encouraged, so that they may be fit for the duties of motherhood. I suggest that the proper course for the City Council to take is to see if an additional bath for ladies cannot be erected. It need not be a large one, and the expense should not be great. Until this is done the present dissatisfaction will continue. —I am, etc, R.D.
