OGCUPAKTS NAEROW ESCAPE. DOWN - A BLAZING LADDER. ' (By Telegraph.—Press Association.! CARTERTON, this day. A fire in Clareville last night destroyed : Mr. S. A. Pull's store, .granary, and resi- • dence, and the local post-office. Nothing 1 was saved. The occupants escaped in night attire, descending a blazing ladder. 1 The origin of the fire is unknovrn. The J store -was insured in the Siat'e office for £600, the granary for £100; stock in granary, £150 in,the South British; stock of store, £700; post-office and contents, £100.
