GRANDMASTER OF L.O.L. (Received 2.5 p.m.) LONDON, December 17. In the House of (kunmons to-day Mr. J. G. Swift MacNeill, member for Donegal South, asked a lengthy question with reference to the fact that Mr. W. G. Ellison-Macartney, Governor-designate of Tasmania, was formerly Grand Master of the Loyal Orange Lodge. Mr. L. V. Harcourt, Secretary of State for the Colonies, replied that he was satisfied that both in experience and in capacity Mr. Macartney would make a suitable and acceptable Governor. He satisfied himself of this before submitting the name for the King's and the Tasmanian Government's concurrence.
