"THE MESSIAH."

To-night, at the Town Hall, the Choral Soeietv will produce Handel's "Messiah" as the" first concert of the 1912-13 season. This performance is creating more than usual interest, on account of the distinguished soloists who have been engaged, headed by the famous English basso Mr. Andrew Black, who has Bung at all the leading musical festivals in the world. The tenor, Mr. Walter Whyte, is so well and favourably known here that he is assured of a most hearty welcome, and Madame Wielaert and Miss Gwenyth Evans will, it is said, be most successful in the oratorio. There has been a very great demand for reserved seats at Wildman and Arey's, and day sale tickets to the cheaper portions of the house may now be obtained from A. Eady and Co., Queen Street.
