AQUATICS.
ROWING. The West End Rowing Club's opening " At Home " on Saturday next promises to be a great success, and complete arrangements have been made to ensure that result. Fourteen crows have been selected to compete in trial fours, to be held for trophies donated by Mt. Thomas Peacock (patron), and as many of the members have been putting in solid training far some time past, the racing should be decidedly keen and interesting to witness. ' Mr. Peacock has now been patron of the club for many years, and the trophies he has annually presented are always competed for at the first "At Home," when record entries for the season are usually received. Unfortunately a large number of would-be entrants are taking advantage of the holiday on Monday week, and are going out of town on Saturday. To enliven proceedings between the races, a band has been engaged for the afternoon, and the ladies 1 committee will supervise that very acceptable item — afternoon tea.
