THEATRE SEATS.
(To the Editor.) Sir, —Allow mc to answer to R. A. Cleland re "Theatre Seats." Mr. Cleland says:"Surely it is natural that the cheap seats should fill first. .." Well, it is natural; the poorer class perhaps cannot afford to .pay the higher I prices, but I fail to see where it is natu-! ral and honourable ,that they should ! be compelled to pay double the advertised price for the cheaper seats. Further, perhaps Mr. Cleland is a little obtuse to : my meaning, but if he received an esti- i mate, say, £6008 for the building of a l picture theatre, and he was compelled to . pay £12,000, how long would it take him to realise the difference? Of course, dealing with small figures, it does not seem much. That is the question I would like Mr. Cleland to deal with.— I am, etc., P. C. AN'SELL.
