AT THE POINT OF THE BAYONET
TIMOR STRONGHOLD TAKEN. (Received 11.20 a.m.) LISBON*, August 26. The Governor of Timor, with a small force of infantry and bluejackets, stormed the rebels' stronghold with the bayonet and captured it after ten hours' fighting. The Portuguese losses were insignificant.
