The Prince of Wales lias returned to Paris from London. Fire has damaged the Meadowside Company's jute factory at Dundee to the extent of £50,000. The capital of a FrancorJapaneae bank, amounting to £1,000,000, has been subscribed in France and Japan. The principal object is to promote Japanese industrialism. A Commission 'has been appointed to report on harbour, warehouse, and Customs facilities for the future .needs of Calcutta. Clarke (cashier of Proctor and Co., a .firm of Liverpool corn brokers, -which recently failed as & result of his defalcations, has been charged with misappropriating £J29.-000 of hi? employer'smoney.
