A Deputation.—W. Griffiths applied for permission to blast rock to level his-property in .Sebwinhe Koad for building purposes, and a depuration of Testdents in the locality presented-:.a petition, (with '77 signatures) Wvdng that Mr. Griffiths' Tequest foe not granted on .account-of. the danger to the surrounding Tie deputation stated that; it,was their impression tJiStvMr. Grifflttis - intended to quarry in AbiDotsford Rfflad-.- : Mr. Crifflths, later, attended the meeting, and stated that it -eras his intention only to level off the s«-p on for building purposes. He rvrould certainly dispose of the stone blasted if he .could do so. The -Council referred the matter to the Street Committee for report Excessive Water Consumption.—The Xewmarket ScHool Committee pointed out that the water consumption of Ebe school tor the year amounted to £30, indicating same meter defect. The decided to inform the committee .that -the meter ■would be tested on the nsaal conditions. Seccombe Road.—'A number of ratepayers on Seccombe Road petitioned to have that road prit in order, and the Council decided to forward the petition to the Epsom Bond Board, .<with . wiich the Council lias an understanding concerning that road. Wtiarf&ee ' Remission). —The Anekland 'Harbour Board intimated that it conW not erant the 'CouiwH's request for renrrseion of wharfage, on Uthofair blocks, as such blocfcs were not on.the.fr-ee list. The Conncil decided to-ast the Board to receive a deputation on the matter. „*—; Finance.—Accounts amounting to £3751 15/9 were passed for payment.
