VANCOUVER, June 13. A wireless message received...from the United States revenue cutter that was dispatched to the assistance of the starviiig residents of Kodiak Island states fhat no lives •were lost there as a result of the volcanic eruptions, though the island was covered a. foot deep with volcanic ash and all food and drinking water was lost.
