LOANS TO LOCAL BODIES.
(By Telegraph,— to "Star.") WTTr.TJMxTOX, this day. Particulars of a new scale of repayment of loans granted to local bodies are contained in the "Gazette," which states that, notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained in the regulations heretofore made, the term of any loan grajited to a local authority may be. 20 years, and the principal and interest of any loan for such term shall be payable by half-yearly instalments of £3 11/6 for each £100 of loan, including the payment of interest at 3| per cent and the repayment of principal in such proportion as will enable the loan to be repaid in 20 years. ___^__^___^_
