MINE EXPLOSIONS.
SEVEN MEN KILLED.
RESCUE PARTY'S ESCAPE.

VANCOUVER. March 8.
Seven men were killed in a jas explosion at the Merritt mines, British Columbia. At the Diamond Vale collieries eleven men were entombed. During rescue operations a cave-in occurred in the mnin shaft. All are safe, however, the men manag ing to reach another level.
