VICTORIA LEAGUE.

AXXCAL MEETING. Their Excellencies Lord and Lady Islington attended the annual meeting of the Auckland branch of the Victoria League, which was held in the Piccadilly Tea Rooms yesterday evening. The vice-regal party arrived punctually at eight o'clock, and was received by Dr. T. Hope Lewis (president of the League!. Mrs. Lewis. Miss E. M. Statham (secretary). Miss J. A Mowbra v. and other prominent members of the League. The annual report, submitted by the secretary, showel that the membership of the branch had almost doubled during the year. Miss Henderson had consented to act as the League's delegate at the Imperial Conference of Patriotic Associations, to be held in London in June.

The report was adopted, on the motion of Mrs. Carr Rollett, who gave an interesting resume of the proceedings at the last London conference.

j Mr. W. J. Napier submitted the r treasurer's report, showing that the ! receipts for the year had been £382 8/8, a- against an expenditure of £.120 0/9. The following officers were appointed lor the ensuing year:—President, Dr. Lewis; secretary. Miss E. M. Statham: treasurer. Miss J. A. Mowbray; vicepresidents, Messrs. A. M. Myers. M.P.. A. Wight Thomson, H. Brett. H. Horton. W. J. Napier, I)r. Cleary, Messrs. J. W. Tibbs. H. B. Leyiand. Mrs. V. Carr Rollett: members of general council. Messrs. J. Reid. W. .T. Napier. F. C Roile,t. W. R. Walker. C. J- Parr, and Colonel J. R. Reed. Mesdames J. Reid, T. Hope Lewis. W. S. Douglas, Colgrove, Luckue, Devore. Leo. Myers. T. C. Macky. Dawes. W. J. Napier, Crossley, Misses A. Morrison. Butler, and Stilwell. During the evening a musical prowas submitted, the performers being Miss Thelma Petersen. Miss Barr, Madame Wielaert, Mrs, Sutherland, and Messrs. Barry Coney and Guy Pierce, The accompaniments were played by Miss U. Hevwood and Herr Wielaert.
