The Hospital Board proposes to spend £304)00 on an administrative block of buildings. Sketch plans vrere approved some time ago. Dr. Valintine, in a recent conference with the committee of the. Board, however, objected to the building as too big for present needs, and suggested that some thousands of pounds might be saved. The Board, at a special meeting to-day, diacusaed the matter. One member (Mr. Turabuil) expressed pleasure that the Government had stepped in to prevent "scandalous extravagance," but he was the only member to take this attitude.
