Mr. Trefle (Minister lot Agriculture), referring to the Tailway management, said tbe Government w»s determined t 0 see that its instructions for an eight-hour day in the serrice, refused by the Commissioner, were tarried out. The president of the Sydney District Amalgamated Engineers' Society complains that since the Labour Government attained power, what appears to ce the organised promotion of nonnnionists over unionists is in vogue. He says that it looks as if the Government is aiming a blow at unionism. A meeting will l be held to appoint a deputation to the Railway Commissioner, and unless satisfaction is given • strike is threatened.
