ELLERSLIE TOWN BOARD. At the usual fortnightly meeting of the Ellerslic Town Board it was resolved to a&k the police to take action against owners of horses who are in the habit of riding or <1 living their animals on the footpaths: also to draw attention to the prevalence of uicye'e riding on the footpaths. Fowlds further communication was received from the Minister of Labour, who stated that he was instructing the Superintendent of Workers' Homes to prepare a report on the matter, on the receipt of which report he would consider the advisability of complying with the Board's request to widen the street. Counties Act Exemption.—A letter was received from the Minister of Internal •Affairs statin* that the application of the Town Board of Ellerslie for exemption from the new Counties A'-t had been acceded to by the Governor and duly gazetted Drainage Scheme.—The Minister of Labour wrote that the Government had decided to accede to the Board's request thit the Board should take over the Government septic tank and the whole of the sewers laid down in the La wry settlement for a fixed sum. He intimated that an airreement could be drawn up forthwith to irive effect to the drainage proposals.
