R.M.S. REMUERA. The latest of Home llners-'-the New Zealand Shipping Company's K.M.S. Remuera—arrived at about 1 a.m. to-day, and was berthed on the west side of the Railway wharf to commence Homeward loading. The vessel left Napier at 9.45 p.m. on Tuesday, and after a stormy voyage, accompanied by frequent heavy rain showers, the vessel arrived as above. A special feature of the Remuera is the improved third ciass accommodation, with a smoking room, on the sheltered promenade deck at the stern of the ship. She is fitted throughout with Melin's patent davits. The risk of lire has been reduced to a minimum owing to the cofferdam (an air space of two feet between two water-tight bulkheads), which entiiely cuts off the bunkers from the rest of the ship. This space can Immediately be filled with water in the event of fire. Every hold is fitted with Clayton't fire extiaguis'ier, and .the Marconi system of wireless telegraphy bag been adopted. The liner is indeed thoroughly up-to-date in every department.
