(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) FOUND IN THE MANAWATU PALMEBSTON NORTH, this dayThe body of a man was found in the Mauawatu River, near Foxtoa Heads, this morning. There is no due to hit identity. The place was left at one o'clock, and not again visited. The fire broke out about 030 pm. No fire had been alight on the premises. The Governor visited Oamaru for the first time to-day, arriving from the South at 11.50. His Excellency was accorded a cjvic welcome at the station, and presented with an address. He was afterwards entertained at luncheon in the Town Hall by the Mayor and Councillors and other public citizens. This evening he will be the guest of Mr. John Raid, of EUerslic.
