The Har.bour 'Board meeting wa>s continued yesterday afternoon, after the "Star' went to press. The. following was extra business;— (HEAVY CHARGES. ' (Messrs. A. fcj. Poole, M.P., wrote,' drawing the chairman's attention to .a conversation in Wellington, when the writer brought under notice the necessity for the Board doing something for tho safety and convenience of pleasure fioats moored, off St. Mary's beach. *it .was pointed out that there was a great deal of shoal water ift the locality at present, and the operations of a dredge for two or three days would be greatly beneficial and highly appreciated.. The matter was referred to the Works Committee. ' KOHIMARAMA WHARF. The Tamakl West 'Road Board wrote that the ratepayers had decided on a rate for the construction of a road to the proposed new wharf at Kohimarama. The 'following motion was carried:—'.That'the Tomaki West Road Board toe informed that upon tho Board undertaking 'the work it would toe necessary for it to furnish' the Harbour <Roard with .plans of the reclamation twork constituting the road approach to the proposed wharf, to enable the necessary Orde'r-in-Conncil being Obtained authorising the work,. and when other conditions which the Board had imposed upon tho applicants for the wharf were complied 'with the erection of the wharf would Ibe commenced." WHARF RAILWAYS. Tho Chairman reported that Mr. Ronayne, ■General Manager of Railways, advised him 'when in Wellington that 'the Department desired to have completed ian agreement between the Department and the Board as to the working of ifcho railway 'traffic at Auckland, and also intimated that he would with Mr. Burnett (Chief 'Engineer) land Mr. Buxton (Chief Traffic Manager), consider the matter of Queen-street wharf.
