A well selected programme of string quartets wilCfie performed by Miss Edith Whitelaw. L.It.A.M. (violin). Miss Sybil Lewis (violin), Mc. J. Shaw (viola), and Mr. Leslje Lambert ('cello). These instrumentalists banded themselves together with the sole object of introducing to tie. musical public some of the gems of Chamber •isrtoi'e—a class of music which is nnfortupately rarely heard in Auckland—and'it is to be hoped that this worthy object will have the unanimous and hearty support of all music-lovers. Another feature of tomorrow night's performance Will be tie first appearance in Auckland of .Madame Dora Hunt, a talented English vocalist, who las recently arrived in Auckland. Judging from the splendid programme which appears in ■ our amusement column of this Issue, containing works from such composers as Tsehalkowsky. T>yorafc.
