THE TAKAPUNA DISTRICT.

A fine no w map, snowing the Takapiua riding of the County of Waitemata, haa just °bcen issued by the Brett Printing and Publishing Company. It illustrates very markedly the rapid spread of settlement in the Takapuca district since the inauguration of the tram and ferry service. Subdivisions of tie various estates are clearly shown, the tram route being marked with red lines and the 'bus by dotted ones. Takapuna Lake appears under its proper Maori designation of "Pujuke," and the bay between O'Neill'a Point and the Narrow Nfit.k is marked a a "Ngataringa." The new jnap is of good size, the scale ba.'ng 10 chahiii to an inch. It was compiled by Colonel A. B, Morrow for the Waitemata County Coun« cil. The map is mounted on strong calica and highly varnished, and will be bol4 at 15/, or 20/ mounted.
