WAKATERE-HUIA COLLISION.
MAGISTERIAL INQUIRY ORDERED. The Minister of Marino, the Hon. J. A. Millar, has decided that a magisterial inquiry into the cause of the collision he tween the steamer Wakatcre and the scow Huia off (.he Sandspit oil the night of August 23 is necessary. The Collector of Customs at Auckland, Mr. Ridings, has been notified accordingly, but owing to pressure of business to-day was una.ble to arrange a date foT the sitting. It ia probable that by to-morrow a convenient date will be arranged.
