MIXE MANAGERS' REPORTS. New Success. —Stoping oil Success No. 2 lode the prospects during' the latter part of the week greatly improved. Blotches of sold can be seen in the stone, and small pieces of pure gold can be obtained by panning off the pug formation. The lead is looking well along the 'back of the stope, and by the time another stope is taken out better results are expected. We will then be up about 20ft above Smithy level. At that point the run of gold started, and •there is every reason to expect the same run as work proceeds. llaurakl Reefs.—During the week the 201 n reef at the -iOOft level has been driven on for a distance of i)ft. The quartz is of a kindly character for carrying gold, and the mineral indications are favourable. Tho channel of country encasing the reef system is all that could be desired. The winze below the lloor of tlie No. 1 level on the company's reef has been stopped, owing to the water being too much to cope with, and opening out lias been commenced. The quartz broken out looks well, and about Gibs of picked stone was secured during the week. The battery is running two shifts on quartz won from various parts of the mine. I'ride of Tokatea.—The mine manager reports that driving and sinking have been in hand on the crosscut leader recently intersected. A little gold has been seen, but at present the lead is very much pinched. The country is well mineralised, and better results should be met at any breaking down. Jit. Welcome. —The drive towards Blue Peter reef is in 5.00 ft. The country is better, as it carries more mineral indications. Thames Deep Level.—The main crosscut •is in 054 ft from the s'haft. The large flow of water reported Ls now draining off. Saxon.—-Tlie main crosscut is 017 ft within the Saxon boundary. Work has been suspended in the drive off the main crosscut, and tho men put on to drive to pick tiup the oantln nation of the reef on the western side through tho large lode. So far no gold has boon seen.. Old ] rauraki.—The new reef at the 400 ft level seaward face has not been worked since last report, owing to the ■water, but this Is now draining off again, wad work will probably be resumed Oils week. A drive Mis been' started towards the Ilauraki Reef. The roof at present, is somewhat disturbed. In No. 2 bloek three stopes are being worked, and a few pieces of picked stone were got. Two stopes are 'being worked In No. I! block. The reef Is making stronger, showing strong colours of gold. At the 300 ft level the country encasing tlie new reef is more favourable than it was. The stopes in No. 2 .block have produced a little picked stone. No. 4 stope will soon reach over where gold was got In No. 3.

■Golden Belt. —The reef in the low level looks well, and the ore shows nice colours of s'ol'd occasionally.
