GROWTH OF MOUNT EDEN.
The Secretary to the Auckland Board of Education (Mr Cave) reported at the meeting of that body this morning that Mt. Eden school was crowded out. There were 100 scholars wanting to get in after the holidays, and there would not be awommodation. A iew had been sent to Grafton school. A letter was read from the Minister for Education notifying a grant of £ 1240 for additions to Edendale school building. The chairman (.Mr G. J. Garland) said that was not really sufficient under the circumstances, as three rooms were re quired, ft was agreed to ask the Minister for an extra grant, so that three •classrooms could be put up in order to provide accommodation for the children in the district.
