DIVORCE.
A WIFE'S infidelity. At the Auckland Supreme Court this afternoon Mr. Justice Edward* heard a petition in divorce in which William Hobson Whitehead, a contractor of Kaeo, prayed for the dissolution of his marriage with Mary Whitehead, on the grounds of oduitery, Adrian Bowyer,- a fisherman, being named as co-respondent* , Mr. Prendergast appeared for petitioner, and there was no appearance of respon-. dent or co-respondent. The parties 'were married in 1607, and' for thirteen years lived at Kaihu, and shifted to Kaeo at the end of 1909. Ur to August of 1910, the pair lived happfljj together, and there were seven children of the marriage, but rumours reached the ears of petitioner, who was generally away from home, as to the frequency with which Bowyer visited tha house, andthelatehourshehadbeearseea; leaving the place. The husband spoka to his wife about the matter, but tha latter said Bowyer was interested no* in herself, but in the servant girt. Haturning 'home unexpectedly one night* petitioner found Bowyer at the honsa with his wife. Bowyer was ordered out of the place, and again the wife asserted that it was the servant girl who , was the attraction. The girl willbara to go," said the husband. "H she goes; replied .the wife, u t will go, too." Tim petitioner said the girl was discharged, and ffis wife left the house the asms, evening in his absence. Other evidenea was forthcoming that Mrs. Whitehead and Bowyer were living together at Whangaroa, and a decree nisi to oa made absolute in three months, was granted.
