LONDON MARKET FOR APPLES. Some Interesting points in connection with the London market for apples are contained In the report furnished by Messrs Edward Jacobs and Sous, which, although referring to shipments from Tasmania, are of importance to anyone intending to send lots Home. This shows that New York Pippins sold from 8/ to 12/, Stunner Pippins 7/0 to 11/, Scarlet Nonpareils 7/6 to 10/6, French Crabs 7/ to 9/, Crow Eggs 7/9 to »/, and I King of the Pippins 7/ to 10/6. It is pointed ont In the circular that apples should not be sent so late In the season, when the fresh cherries, strawberries, and gooseberries are on the Ixradon market. Shipments arriving at the end of July mnst inevitably deter buyers from speculating on the two previous shipments, and so cause a substantial fall all round. The circular states that far larger quantities of apples were shipped this year from Australia and Tasmania than ever before. Out of a total shipment for the season from Tasmania alone (not to speak of the mainland) of 690,000 cases, no less than nine cargoes, aggregating upwards of 310,000 cases, were despatched to arrive in England not earlier than the 10th of Jnue, and pome of th;m not until late In July.
