Duder) repm ieu that for the fortnight ending August 10, the arrivals in Auckland consisted of one warship, two Hojal mall steameis, tIiPT large cargo steamers, nine Intercolonial traders In addition to coastal vessels, an aggregate of gross tons, also l!(ili local coasters of 38,936 gross tons. The departures made a grand total of IUO.IGo gross tons. The completion of the .sweeping of the new explosives anchorage was reported on, an.] i't was stated that no new rocks were found in deep water, or where they would inn rfere with steamers carrying explosives. Three sniull rocks were located off Drunlu'ii liay, having 10ft Cln over them at lowest spring tide. A commencement had also been made with the channel between Mo:uihi and Motutapu. O'NEILL'S POINT. The Tnknpuna Tram and Perry Co. wrote in lefeieuce to reclaiming land at O'Neill's P.ilat. and lo say that the Company was prepared to take a iea.se thereof. It was pointed out thnt the Company pays £SO per annum reiual for use of the embankment, ana was prepared to annul Its rights over the rlpuriun rights of the laud in question, therefore the directors trusted that only n P'l'P'Tjorn rental would be charged, and the lease Tfc for 60 yeaTts.
