Deputations representing the natirt ownrrs and Wilsons lime kiln workl waited on the Te Kuiti Borough Council and Waitomo County Council las* night, protesting against the compulsorj acquisition of an area oi land at T< Kuiui, one mile below Te Kuiti, for 1 sanitary depot for the borough. Mr. 'ilowsirth (of Earl, Kent, ani Howarth) said he was prepared to exhaust every legal remedy to defeat th» compulsory taking of the land, and the County Council promised him every sup l port in opposition. The Borough Council reiterated tiieil previous decision to proceed with thi acquisition. The Mayor explained that Dr. Makgit recommended the particular site sought and when recently seen in Auckland 1* again agreed that it was the best avail able.
