Mr M. Foley and Mr H. H. Hayr left for a round trip of the Islands to-day. The Salvation Army in Auckland will commemorate its 28th anniversary with a public tea in their hall, Albert-street to-morrow evening. The annual rescue meeting will be held in the same hall at 8 o'clock. His Worship the Mayor (Mr C. J. Parr) will preside, and Colonel Birkenshaw, the officer in charge of the Salvation Army in the North Island, will present the annual report and deliver an address on the social work.
