THE GOVERNOR.
Her Excellency Lady Islington, accompanied by tbe Hon. Joan Pojmder, Miss Stapleton-Cotton, Miss Vormwald, and Captain Shannon, A.D.C., will leave for Wellington by the Main Trunk train tonight, after having spent ten weeks in Auckland.
i Last evening his Excellency the Governor attended the smoke social of the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron, and to-morrow evening will be present at the Auckland Chamber of Commerce dinner, leaving for Huntly on Thursday for a few days' shooting. On Sunday night next his Excellency will go on by the express as far as Palmerston North, where he will be given an official reception on arrival, and on Tuesday he will visit the Winter Show of the Manawatu A. and P. Association. In the afternoon he will lay the foundation stone of the new St. Paul's Wesleyan Church, when a silver trowel with a mother-of-pearl handle, will bo presented to his Excellency; and in the evening he will attend a public schools dinner, continuing to Wellington next day by motor-car to participate in the Coronation celebrations in the capital city. His Excellency will be attended by Captain MacDougall, A.D.C., during the week. Mr. A. Guise, private secretary to the Governor, proceeded to Wellington on Sunday night, and the household staff are being dispatched to Wellington at intervals this week.
