Three -few Zealanders—L. B. Todd, C. Seeling, and P. Williams—played -for Wigan against Broughton Rangers on Saturday in the Xorthern Union Football Cup final. Wigan were defeated by 4 points to niL Heavy Tain, had partly submerged the ground, and Wigan protested against the match being played at all under such conditions. The Northern Union committee, however, overruled the objection, and Wigan, entering on the game in a half-hearted spirit, were beaten. Woodger, who is 100 yds and 220 yds Australasian champion, is to compete at the Festival of Empire games on June 24, and he tells mc he will also be running at Crewe on June 17, and at other club meetings. He will visit Ireland and Scotland, and hopes to have a month on the Continent, returning to Xew Zealand via America.
