Owing to the drought during the summer months, and the cold, wet weather which lias lately prevailed, milk supplies have decreased to such an extent that in some of the out districts it is impossible to meet even household needs. The quantity of butter being manufactured, is considerably less than was expected, and it seems probable that 'there will bo a serious shortage before next season commences. In consequence of this, choice factory-made butter has advanced Id per lb, and the New Zealand Dairy Association, Ltd., notifies elsewhere that the price of their "Association" and ''Anchor" brands is now l/2i per lb wholesale.
