THE PROPOSED ALDRIDGESCOTT BENNETT DEBATE.
(To the Editor.) Sir,—if r. Falkner's secofig fetter is, of course, a furteber attempt *_$ make mc appear solely responsible for the above debate having fallen through. The Man-gasarian-Clarke debate, we are told, does not affect the point at issue, although it clearly shows that wihen arrangements were being made for that debate, Mr. Clarke did not think it necessary to stipulate that it should be a two-night debate or no debate at all. Your correspondent's sneers and insinuations I can afford to ignore. I have been engaged in debate with "capable" men from the first day I appeared upon the public platform.—l am, etc., H. SCOTT BENNETT.
