THE GOVERNOR.
His Excellency Lord Islington returned from Wellington by the Main Trunk train yesterday, accompanied by Captain MacDougall, A.D.C. This evening the (xovea--nor will present the prizes for the year at the smoke social of the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron, and on Wednesday evening he will attend the Auckland Chamber of Commerce dinner, at the Northern Club. On Thursday he will go to Huntly on a shooting trip. Lady Islington, accompanied by Capt. Shannon. A.D.C., the Hon. Joan Poynder, and Miss StapLeton Cotton, will leave Auckland by the express to-morrow night for Wellington.
