AMERICAN WOOL TARIFF.
WASHINGTON, June 10. In the Federal House of Representatives Mr. Warburton attacked the wool tariff revision. He declared that the Democrats were afraid to reduce the tariff further. Mr. Peters defended the Democratic programme on the ground that it was not possible to lower the tariff on wool because of revenue exigencies. (Received 8.5 a.m.) WASHINGTON, June 11. During the wool debate in the House of Representatives, Mr. Francis (Ohio) favoured a lower duty on manufactured woollens. He contended that lowering the duty on raw wool would wipe out the United States sheep industry.
