The Health Officer reports for the week, in respect to plague and rats, are eminently .satisfactory in that two plague patients have been discharged from the hospital, while no sign of the disease has been discovered in any of the rats brought to the office for inspection. The experience of the past has been that unwelcome finds have been made subsequent to heavy downpours of rain, and possibly the deluge of this morninn- wQI fiave the effect of driving from the shelter of the sewers large numbers of rats that habitually harbour there. It will, however, be a day or two before exact information as to the effect of the rain in this respect will be definitely known. In connection with the Coronation ' services Colonel Wolfe, officer command - ing the Auckland military district, states that it has now been satisfactorily arranged that church services will take place before the Coronation parade on Thursday, 22nd inst. The troops will parade in time to attend and lea-ve at 12.30 to go to the Domain. Smart Oheviot costumes, semi-fi.ttinn\ braid trimmings, brown,-navy, grey, and hello.
