DIPHTHERIA EPIDEMIC.
(Received 10.5 a.m.) MELBOURNE, this day. During the five months ended May 31 1090 cases of diphtheria in the metropolitan area were recorded, compared with 554 during the same period last year. The epidemic is attributed to extremely coid weather.
